What Chase can do

He can go up and down the stairs with ease

He can eat with a fork and a spoon

He can drink from a cup

He can brush his teeth and spit

He can wash his hands with foam hand sanitizer

He can make animal noises for a cat, dog, horse, cow, bumblebee, goat, sheep, lion, and is working on an elephant.

He can blow kisses and give real ones

He can wave goodbye

He can do peg puzzles all by himself

He can point out his nose, ears, and bellybutton

He can say all gone with appropriate hand motions

He can clap his hands to music (mostly on key)

He can dance

He can do lots of stuff, I just can’t think of it now while he is trying to climb on top of my lap.

Weekend fun

Gotta love the weekend.  Lucky for me I have a long one currently in process.  I have off until Tuesday evening when I start my first round of night shifts.  I have to say that I am pretty psyched to start on nights.  You get paid more, you don’t have as much going on in terms of tests, etc, and it’s just a little more relaxed in general.  I am digging the extra money, I won’t lie.  I am hoping to move out soon and a few extra bucks in my pockets would be nice.

So far the weekend has been pretty chill.  Retaught myself how to knit.  I am planning on making Chase a blanket to match his baby bedding.  It is chocolate brown, tan, and blue and I think it will be a nice little blanket.  Plus I actually want to finish a project for once!  I also had to get my tires changed, that was a sweet 315 bucks spent… not.  I guess I would rather be safe than sorry though so I can’t complain too much.  All I have left is to get the car inspected.

I have a lot coming up too.  I have a cake due for Saturday and after I drop that off we are going to the lake for the weekend, woo hoo!  We will have 1/2 of Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday at the lake and head home on Wednesday morning in time for work.  I am glad we are getting up there this year and can’t wait to take Chase swimming!

Day 2!

I am on my second day of learning guitar.  I can play A major, D major, and E major.  Now if only I could play them well.  One day at a time, I can’t expect to go out there and be amazing.  I just want to try and write music and sing and think that knowing an instrument would only do me good!  Even if I just work on those chords for the next few weeks I will build finger strength, muscle memory, and be off to a great start.  I just hope my middle three fingers regain feeling soon!

Tuesday is almost as long as a Monday

I am so done and over day shift.  I am a 2nd or 3rd shift kind of girl and I just need to learn to live with that.  I hate waking up at 5:45 every morning and hate that I spend half the day away from Chase.  At least with evening or night shift I am not gone during his waking hours for so long.  I just miss Chase when I am at work, and I miss my bed, and I miss sleeping in past 6 am!  I am just ready to switch to nights, 3 days a week.  I am also super excited for the shift differential that comes with it.  I am also stoked to be getting off of orientation in 5-6 weeks so I can start picking up some OT to save towards our apartment.

I just can’t wait to move out.  To be independent and to be our little family.  I figure if we can make it work and move out together than marriage and a bigger family are not too far in the future from there.  I want to be a married woman.  I want to look down at my hand and see the symbol of marriage perched on my ring finger.  It doesn’t have to be a three carat symbol, one would be more than enough ;)  I also want to be able to say “my husband” does this, or “my husband is the greatest”  I want to be someone’s wife, not a girlfriend, but a wife.  After five years and two children, I don’t think I am asking for too much!  I also want more children, but have all but refused until I am married because I want to do some things the right way, or at least part ways!  I just got it a little backwards is all!

Ok, well Shrek is on, the boy is chill, and I may see a little nap in my not so distant future.  Then I am thinking of taking Chase swimming a bit (when the sun isn’t so harsh), then bath time, bottle, and bed!  My dear sweet wonderful bed, we will be together again soon.
